A Message from the President of the Southwest Virginia Fire Fighters Association Print E-mail

From John Campbell

Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department

Dear Association Members,

I would like to thank you for this opportunity you have given me to be your president of this great association that so many of you support.  I look forward to working with you and your departments and also working with our fellow officers and committees to help make our association even stronger.

As president there are  six goals that I have.  First, let us make sure we take care of our seasoned firefighters that have gotten us where we are today.   Second, make sure we take care of business at hand to the best of our ability.  Third, always make sure that we leave something for our future members for tomorrow.  Fourth, continue to work with the membership committee, ever striving to increase membership and departments.  Fifth, to continue to work with the scholarship committee to secure an ongoing endowment fund to carry us into the future. And sixth, to work with the convention committee to insure that we keep our great conventions going with  training, fun, fellowship and funding.

The members of the Abingdon Fire Department and I look forward to meeting you at the 63rd annual Southwest Firefighters Convention to be help in Abingdon, Virginia at the Higher Education Center on June 11, 12, and 13, 2009.
We hope to see you there.

Thank you for your support and if, at any time, I can be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact me.

 Sincerely,

John H. Campbell, President
